GGNet Launches Enhanced Digital Support for Psychiatric Patients
Gelderland, Friday, 14 March 2025.
GGNet has unveiled a digital care support system to assist 18,000 psychiatric patients, enhancing accessibility and engagement with digital treatment through Helpdesk Digital Care services.
Comprehensive Digital Support Infrastructure
The initiative, launched on March 3, 2025, represents a significant advancement in mental healthcare delivery across North and East Gelderland. Operating across six strategic locations including Apeldoorn, Doetinchem, Zutphen, Zevenaar, Winterswijk, and the main facility in Warnsveld, GGNet employs approximately 2,100 healthcare professionals and 140 volunteers to deliver this enhanced digital care system [1]. The new support structure enables patients to access assistance with various digital tools, from basic portal login procedures to more complex video consultation systems and health applications [1].
Patient-Centered Digital Innovation
Carmen Nijhuis, director at GGNet, emphasizes the initiative’s focus on patient autonomy: ‘We want our patients to have as much control over their recovery as possible. Digital care can help with that, provided it is accessible and well-supported’ [1]. The system implements a multi-channel support approach, offering assistance through telephone, email, and chat services. A particularly notable feature is the introduction of self-help manuals available through the dedicated GGNet landing page, designed to provide immediate assistance to clients navigating the Minddistrict portal [1].
Healthcare Professional Integration
The digital support system creates a more efficient healthcare delivery model by allowing medical professionals to redirect technical queries to the Digital Care Helpdesk. This strategic delegation enables healthcare providers to focus more intensively on direct patient care [1]. Merlijne Sonneveld, founder and director of Helpdesk Digital Care, underscores the inclusive nature of the initiative: ‘We want everyone to feel that digital care is there for their convenience and well-being, ensuring that all users, regardless of their technological proficiency, can fully utilize these digital care tools’ [1].
